Types of White Blinds We Install in Ottawa
White is the most ordered colour we sell, and it comes in three main products. The material changes the texture and how the white reads in the room.
White Faux Wood Blinds
The most popular white blind. Painted-look composite slats that match white trim and shutters, and handle kitchens and bathrooms.
White Roller Blinds
Clean and minimal. White light-filtering rollers make rooms feel bright, and white blackout rollers have a white face so they look tidy from the street.
White Aluminum Blinds
Slim, inexpensive and durable. Bright white or cream aluminum suits kitchens, bathrooms and rentals.

5 Mistakes People Make Choosing White Blinds
- Picking from a screen. Monitors cannot show undertones accurately. You need a physical sample.
- Checking in the store, not at home. Showroom lighting is not your north-facing bedroom.
- Ignoring the trim. The blind sits right inside the trim. If the undertones clash, it shows.
- Mixing whites room to room. Two different whites on the same wall look like a mistake.
- Buying cheap vinyl for sunny windows. It can yellow, and a yellowed white blind looks worse than any colour.
What Stops Ottawa Homeowners From Buying White Blinds?
Price shock. Not usually. White blinds run $180-$600 per window installed, the same as the product in any other colour.
Custom vs stock. In our opinion, stock whites are the biggest gamble. Big-box stores carry one or two whites, and they rarely match trim. We carry many.
Is motorization worth it? For white rollers on tall windows, it can be. For faux wood and aluminum, no.
Delivery timeline. About 2-3 weeks. White faux wood is often in priority stock.

Choosing the Right White: Bright, Off-White or Cream Blinds
Start with your trim. Hold a piece of plain white printer paper against it. If the trim looks creamy next to the paper, it is a warm white, so choose off-white or cream blinds. If the trim looks as bright as the paper, choose bright white. Next, look at the light. North-facing rooms make every white look cooler and greyer, so a slightly warmer blind often reads better there. South- and west-facing rooms warm everything up, so bright white holds up well. Finally, think about the whole floor. One white throughout the main floor looks intentional. We bring all three to your windows during the free measure, which takes about ten minutes and saves a lot of second-guessing. Many clients pick white faux wood blinds for the main floor and match them in the bathrooms.
