Our Story: From a Rented Nepean Unit to a 6,000 sq ft Showroom
The shop started in 2007 out of a rented unit in Nepean. Our founder grew up around a small window and glass shop in Westboro, was measuring bay windows on weekends by 17, trained through the Algonquin College Carpentry program and then spent six years installing for a Bells Corners window-covering retailer. By the time the doors opened, the idea was simple: measure every window properly, quote it honestly, and install it so it looks like it came with the house.
Eighteen years later that rented unit is a 6,000 sq ft Nepean showroom with Hunter Douglas priority stock and 400+ samples on working displays. There is a dedicated in-home measurement team, a 7-truck install fleet and a lead installer with more than 15 years on the tools. The idea has not changed.
What We Do Differently
We measure in-home to within one sixteenth of an inch, at three points across each window, because Ottawa windows are rarely square. We publish CAD pricing for every blind type on this site, and every quote itemises measurement, materials, manufacture, delivery and install. We install with our own WSIB-covered crews, not subcontractors, and back every job with a written 2-year workmanship warranty.
We also work through a network of 15 Canadian manufacturers, including Hunter Douglas, Levolor, Graber, Shade-O-Matic, Altex, Maxxmar, Elite and Kimbel. That means we can quote the same window two or three ways and tell you honestly which one we would put in our own homes.
