Planning Around Your Possession Date
The drive from our Nepean showroom is a straight run down Woodroffe or Greenbank to Strandherd Drive, about 15 to 20 minutes depending on the Hunt Club traffic. Most K2J measures are booked within 48 to 72 hours of your call.
New-build timing is the real puzzle. We can measure as soon as the builder lets you in for a walkthrough, and standard orders take about 4 weeks. If closing is tighter than that, 2-week rush delivery is $150-$450. We have done plenty of Half Moon Bay and Stonebridge installs the morning after the movers left, and a few the morning before.
New-Build Singles and Townhomes We Know Well
Barrhaven had 103,234 residents at the 2021 census, and much of the housing is 2000s to 2020s singles and townhomes from a handful of big builders, so we have measured the same window schedules many times. That does not mean we skip the measure. Builder windows vary by a quarter inch or more from plan, and stock blinds bought off the plan sizes sit short. We confirm every opening in person.
The common picks: cordless cellular shades in bedrooms for warmth and safety, zebra blinds in the main living space for a clean modern look, and faux wood in kitchens and bathrooms where steam would warp real wood. Many owners also swap the thin builder-grade vinyl blinds within the first year once they notice the light gaps.
Along the Jock River, which forms the southern edge of the community, and the open fields south of Strandherd, wind and sun hit the back of these homes hard. Patio doors on the rear of Longfields and Chapman Mills homes are often the first thing people ask about, and panel tracks or fabric verticals usually solve it.
