We are about 20 minutes from the Nepean showroom via Carling and Bronson, and laser templating is booked within 3 business days. Bank Street traffic around Lansdowne and TD Place on game days is the main thing we plan around, so we avoid installs on event evenings.

Side streets off Fifth Avenue and Glebe Avenue are narrow with permit parking, so we bring a compact van and keep install crews to two people. Condo installs at Lansdowne and along Bank Street are booked with building management for elevator and loading time. Homes near Dow's Lake and the Rideau Canal often have the easiest access in the neighbourhood.

Century-Old Homes We Know Well

The area opened for development in 1870, and most houses here were built before 1914: brick and frame homes with tall double-hung windows, deep sills and original stained or painted trim. After a century of settling, these openings are almost never square. We measure the width at top, middle and bottom and the height at both sides, then order inside-mount blinds to the tightest dimension so they clear the frame without rubbing.

Real wood blinds stained to match the trim are the most requested product. We bring stain samples and hold them against the casing in your own light. Along Clemow Avenue, where City heritage conservation districts protect original wood windows, inside-mount keeps those windows looking original from the street.
