### Getting Across the Greenbelt to You

We are about 25 minutes from the Nepean showroom across the Queensway, and we often pair these jobs with our weekly east-end Orleans route. Bay window templating is booked within 3 business days of your call.

We come in along Montreal Road or Ogilvie Road depending on the street. Blackburn Hamlet, one of only two suburban areas ringed by NCC Greenbelt land, has quiet crescents and easy parking. Pineview homes near the golf course and Castle Heights streets off St. Laurent are a short hop. Most installs out here are finished in a morning.

### 1960s Bays and Split-Levels We Know Well

Beacon Hill was built mostly in the 1960s and 1970s, and Castle Heights and Pineview share that era, with split-levels and bungalows that almost all have a living room bay. Bays are where cheap blinds fail: stock headrails collide in the corners, leaving a triangle of light at each angle. We measure each pane, record the angle and deduct for the corner so every blind clears its neighbour. Wood, cellular or roman shades per pane are the common solutions, and shutters are an option for a more permanent look.

Blackburn Hamlet welcomed its first residents in 1967, and most of its homes date from the 1960s and 1970s, many still with original windows that let in cold air. Cellular shades are the go-to there. Split-level basements across the area have shallow, half-height windows where only mini blinds or slim cellular will sit flush.

Older trim in these homes is often worth keeping. Inside-mount blinds keep it visible, and we will tell you honestly if the recess is too shallow for that.
